I finally put my money where my mouth is …
and donated to both Barack Obama and John McCain. That’s the race this young, give everyone a fair chance at success in life supporting, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, Indian-American is looking forward to.
Not sure how much of a difference it’ll make, if only I was richer :

I
Last time my husband gave money to Edwards, I think, and then we got this fancy picture in the mail as a thank-you, and it was nice but at the same time we wondered how much of the money we gave actually went to useful campaign stuff as opposed to the freebies they give out as thank-you’s!
I do not usually donate money to things - I am not sure about for campaigns
I would donate some money to charity if I could afford to
wise choices…
Your new profile picture is pimp. I’m all for Ron Paul, but since he’s most likely not going to win I hope that Obama wins. They both have good character.
Have you noticed Obama’s site runs PHP while McCain’s runs ASP.NET, what does that say about these candidates?!
@dave - it says that they both need to crawl out of the darkness and embrace Python… duh!
Obama is a wise choice but McCain?
I agree with your choices there. I’d take any of the democrats over McCain, but he’s somewhat better than the other republicans heh.
@mightymarce -
they probably sent you that because they wanted you guys to give them more money =)
@cApNhOwDy123 -
thanks, that profile pic is from New Years. as for Ron Paul, i have to say that some of the things he talks about (like the gold standard) seem a bit crazy.
@vikas - Yeah I dont support the gold standard, but I do support just about every other cause that he believes in. But I dont dive too deep into that political stuff, to be honest the topic bores me to tears. But just like a good education, it IS important.
@ayca - I trust McCain to do the right thing even if it’s not easy politically or if opinion polls are all against him. For example, he supported the surge, which seems to have made things better. However, I also trust him to not do something absolutely stupid like going into a war unilaterally without enough troops when we could have gotten others to help us by waiting a bit more.
@vikas - Oh I see your point. When he said he wanted to stay in Iraq for 100 years, I ignored the ‘if necessary’ part I guess.
I’d really like to see the election be McCain vs Obama, but I have a feeling Clinton will end up with the nomination.
@dan - Yeah, I feel like that might happen too unfortunately. McCain vs Obama would be a hard decision for me but I think I’d go with Obama. If it’s McCain vs Hillary I think I’ll probably go with McCain.
