I’m sitting on my couch right now watching Lleyton Hewitt try to battle back from 2 sets down in the Australian Open. Hewitt is my favorite tennis player (my second favorite is Nadal).

Back in my high school tennis days, I went to a summer camp run by this former pro (or semi-pro maybe?) named Bill. This was when I just started, so I didn’t have any skill. The way I won matches was by running down every single ball and not making too many mistakes. This style is called, “counter punch”. This is the style that Lleyton Hewitt plays with, except 1000 times better. Bill told me during the camp that counter punches could never do well on the in the pros. So when I saw Hewitt playing with that style, I started following his matches. When he won tournaments playing with his intense, never give up style, he became my favorite player.

He has no major weapons but he still manages to win games by just outworking his opponents. Although today it looks like he’s going to lose =(.

On another sports related note, go Patriots! Seeing as how Detroit will pretty much never make the playoffs  during my lifetime, I’m cheering for the Patriots. Basically because Tom Brady played at Michigan. Also, I hate the Colts and Peyton Manning’s face.

  • Man oh Man! What happened to the Pats? Was a great game except when The Patroits are one’s Detroit Lions! I always pulled for Green Bay or the NE Pats because they play in Michigan weather (and you or I will never see a Lion Superbowl). My idea was a NE and Chicago final —- outdoors!! Screw the media and the rich assed (fair weather) fans. Play Ball! Up north outside. Like the Pack playing in 21 below weather in the mid 60′s! When men were men! And the last time the Lions were any good! LOL!
